OutGuide (the “Service”) respects your personal data and handles it carefully. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how it's stored and shared, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

• Account: email address, display name, handle, profile photo, bio, language preference • Owner verification: the social account or email used for verification, the verification code history, and timestamps • Newsletter: email address, language, opt-in/opt-out history • Reviews and submissions: review content, rating, timestamp, author name • Automatic: access logs, IP address, browser info, cookies, Google Analytics usage data

2. How we use it

• Operating the service (listings, reviews, bookmarks, search) • Verifying venue owners and gating venue edits • Sending the newsletter (only with your consent) • Preventing abuse, investigating policy violations • Improving the service via aggregated, non-identifying analytics

3. Third-party processors

We do not sell personal data. We do entrust processing to service providers: • Google Firebase (auth, database, storage) • Google Cloud (Places API, Gemini API for translation / classification) • Resend (email delivery) • Vercel (hosting) • Google Analytics (usage analytics) Each is contractually required to protect your data and may not use it outside this policy.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to remember your language, keep you signed in, and gather aggregate analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features will degrade. We run Google Analytics in IP-anonymised mode and only use the data in aggregate.

5. Retention

• Account: until you request deletion • Venue listings: kept while published; archived listings stay internally as audit history • Reviews: may remain public in anonymised form even after account deletion • Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe; fully deleted 30 days afterward

6. Your rights

You may: • Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data • Request data portability • Object to processing Write to hello@outguide.jp; we'll verify your identity and respond within a reasonable period.

7. Minors

OutGuide covers nightlife and is intended for users 18+. We do not intentionally collect data from people under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
